Family Type: Gay Couple
State We live in: South Carolina

dear expectant mother

The first and most important thing we want to say is thank you for considering us to be potential parents for your child. You are definitely making a sacrifice that most people do not understand, and we can’t imagine all that you are going through. We want you to know we are here for you and your child. We hope we can be a loving support for you as you go through this process. Our dream of starting a family could be possible because of you, and for that we are so grateful.

We promise your child will be surrounded by a loving and supportive family. Zach is excited to teach them how to swim and ride a bike and about his love for old movies, while Chris hopes to teach them about gardening and his love for nature and cooking. No matter how their interests flourish, we will support them and will do our best to raise them as a confident, compassionate, well-rounded individual.

There won’t be a day that goes by when we don’t feel extremely blessed by your gift to us. No matter what role you chose to play in the child’s life, we will always consider you family. Starting a family is something we always wanted to do, and it is only possible because of you.

There won’t be a day that goes by when we don’t feel extremely blessed by your gift to us. No matter what role you chose to play in the child’s life, we will always consider you family.

About Us

We met while in college at the University of South Carolina. Although we were a few years apart and eventually moved to different states, our friendship remained strong. After years of traveling back and forth to visit each other, our friendship slowly turned into dating, and we took a leap of faith to move together back to South Carolina. In 2020, we decided to make our commitment official and got married in the most COVID way possible (a Thanksgiving Day backyard wedding with Chris’s brother as the officiant). With Zach originally from Tennessee and Chris from New Jersey, we both have big extended families with two siblings each. Our family gatherings are never dull and have lots of good food, laughs, and funny accents. We both work from home in the healthcare industry and enjoy exploring the parks, restaurants, and other fun spots within walking distance of our house.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a historic and diverse neighborhood in the heart of our city. The tree-lined streets and sidewalks filled with families drew us to the area from the moment we moved back to South Carolina. Two years ago, we were finally able to move into the neighborhood and have become quite handy fixing and renovating the house to be our forever family home. Our two rescue dogs, Rambo and Oliver, keep us on our toes and have more personality than you can imagine. They love running around the yard and snuggling up next to any visitor. Chris is an avid gardener and spends a lot of time in the yard growing organic vegetables and herbs, and Zach enjoys eating the fruits of Chris’s labor.

Our Extended Family

Family is the most important thing for the both of us. Chris grew up in a large and close-knit Italian family with two siblings and dozens of cousins within minutes of his childhood home. Sundays were spent making meatballs with his grandmother and hearing stories from his grandfather, a World War II veteran. With his brother and cousins starting to have children of their own, we are excited to welcome in a new generation to our close family.

Zach has always known what it’s like to have a sibling. As a twin, he and his brother share a special bond. Growing up in Tennessee, Zach was very close with his grandparents and enjoyed going to football games and spending weekends on the lake. Zach’s family loves to travel, and his parents are over the moon to have their first grandchild.

While our backgrounds are different, our families have merged together to form something truly special. Any child that is brought into our family will receive so much love, and we can't wait to continue our traditions while creating new ones as well.

What Led Us To Adoption

For us, providing a safe and loving home for a child is one of the biggest blessings in life. While we know there are many ways to start a family, we believe adoption is the best way we can start ours. From our first days as a couple, we began to discuss sharing our love and family with a child. Any child that is welcomed into our home will feel loved, supported, and empowered to grow up into anyone they can dream of. We’ve also had close friends who have gone through the adoption journey, and they have reinforced our belief that adoption is a great way to start a family.
