  1. What personally identifiable information is collected from you through the web site, how it is used and with whom it may be shared.

  2. What choices are available to you regarding the use of your data.

  3. The security procedures in place to protect the misuse of your information.

  4. How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

You may opt out of any future contact from us at any time. You may also contact us at any time for any of the following reasons:

  • See what data, if any, we have about you

  • Change or correct any data we have about you

  • Have us delete any data we have about you

  • Express any concern you have about our use of your data

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via this website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

California Residents

California law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended and related regulations (the “CCPA”), requires us to disclose information regarding the categories of personal information and sensitive personal information that we have collected about California consumers, the categories of sources from which the information was collected, the business or commercial purposes (as that term is defined by applicable law) for which the information is disclosed, and the categories of parties to whom we disclose or sell/share (as those terms are defined by applicable law) the personal information. That information relative to our business is detailed above.

California residents may opt out of the “sale” of their personal information and “sharing” of their personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes (as those terms are defined by applicable law). As noted above, we do not sell or share your personal information with any third parties.

If you are a California resident, you may have certain rights in addition to those described above. California law may permit you to request that we:

  • Provide you the categories of personal information and sensitive personal information we have collected or disclosed about you in the last twelve months; the categories of sources of such information; the business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling such information; and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed such information.
  • Provide access to and/or a copy of certain information we hold about you.
  • Delete certain information we have about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information we have about you.

We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding to a request, which may include, at a minimum, depending on the sensitivity of the information you are requesting and the type of request you are making, verifying your name, email address, and physical address.

You are also permitted to designate an authorized agent to submit certain requests on your behalf. In order for an authorized agent to be verified, you must provide the authorized agent with signed, written permission to make such requests or a power of attorney. We may also follow up with you to verify your identity before processing the authorized agent’s request.

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law.

The criteria we use to determine the applicable retention periods include:

  • The length of time that we have had an ongoing business relationship with you (e.g., for as long as you have an account or subscription with us or keep using our products or services);
  • Whether we have a legal obligation pursuant to applicable laws to retain the information (e.g., laws requiring us to keep transaction records for a certain period of time); and/or
  • Whether the information is relevant to enforcing our agreements, resolving disputes, site safety and security, improving site functionality.

Our privacy policy is also in compliance with the California Online Privacy Act (“CalOPPA”). [insert language regarding how Lifelong Adoptions plans to respond to Do Not Track (DNT) requests – presumably they don’t want to respond at all and are not required to].
