Dear Expectant Mother,

We hope this letter finds you surrounded by strength and peace. Your consideration of adoption for your precious child showcases immense love and courage, and we deeply admire your selflessness.

We are two hopeful dads dreaming of a family to cherish. We believe love makes a family, and our home is filled with warmth, laughter, and boundless affection. We are committed to providing your child with a nurturing environment where they can thrive, explore their passions, and grow surrounded by unconditional love. In our home, your baby will always be celebrated for who they are, and we will ensure they have every opportunity to pursue their dreams.

As two dads, we embrace diversity, kindness, and understanding. Our journey has taught us the importance of authenticity and empathy, values we promise to instill in your child. We are excited to teach them to embrace love in all its forms and to be part of a diverse community. We promise to honor your incredible gift by providing a life filled with love, joy, and opportunity. We are committed to supporting you in any way that feels right for you, should you choose us.

Thank you for considering us as potential adoptive parents for your child. The trust you would place in us is the greatest honor we could ever imagine, and we promise to hold that trust sacred. No matter your decision, please know you are in our thoughts and have our utmost respect.

With gratitude and love,
Scott & Matt

About Us

We met in Minnesota in 2013 when Scott was completing medical school and searching for where to complete his residency. Matt is originally from Iowa, where he was raised on a dairy farm, but moved to Minnesota for college and eventually his career. Scott was raised in Boise, Idaho, but moved out to Minnesota for residency in emergency medicine. Traveling the world has always been one of our biggest passions. Our relationship has taken us on safari in Tanzania, exploring the beautiful landscapes and foods of Japan, frequently visiting Scott’s brother and his kids in Europe, and often finding a warm getaway to escape the blustery Minnesota winters. In 2017 we got married in Cancun with several of our closest family and friends. Beyond travel and exploration, we love to go for bike rides around the city, try out new restaurants with local friends, and attend local theater and musicals.

Our Home

After four years living together renting a townhome, we took a leap in 2019 and built a four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom house in a beautiful neighborhood in Minnesota. We chose a community that has tons of young families and an excellent public school just one block away from our front door. We have a vibrant street that is filled with childrens’ laughter, frequent lemonade stands, outdoor play, and plenty of trick-or-treaters come Halloween! A park, playground, and water splash pad are just three blocks away, and two gorgeous lakes for biking, running, and walking are within a quarter mile. On weekends in the summer, we pack a picnic and ride bikes to the local bandshell to hear live music during sunset.

Our Extended Family

Family is at the center of our lives, and we cannot wait to share the love and laughter with your child! Matt has five siblings in Iowa and Minnesota as well as ten nieces and nephews. Scott has one brother who lives abroad in Europe with his partner and two children. Matt’s mother still lives on the original family farm in Iowa with several of his siblings close by. Scott’s mother lives in Minnesota near our home, and his father lives in Washington by the coast.

Some of our favorite times include taking our mothers to the local theater to see the touring musicals, joining family for a big meal and celebration on Thanksgiving and Christmas, and traveling to Europe to explore new cultures and cuisines and ensure some quality family time with Scott’s brother, niece, and nephew.

What Led Us To Adoption

When we first met in 2013, one thing we knew for sure was that we both wanted to have children. We both grew up in families with siblings and have always wanted to be able to parent and raise a child with the same love, affection, and care our families afforded us. Matt spent countless years helping to raise his nieces and nephews growing up on the farm in Iowa, and Scott works each day at the hospital healing children and adults in their sickest times of need. We are thrilled to expand our family so we can pass on the love, devotion, and resilience our families, friends, and community have shared with us.
