dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We want to start by expressing our deepest respect and admiration for the courage and love you're showing through this process. We can only imagine the emotions and decisions you're facing, and we want you to know we're here with open hearts and open minds.
Our journey to become parents has led us to you, and we are filled with hope and gratitude at the possibility of welcoming your child into our lives. We promise to provide a home filled with laughter, love, and stability. We want you to know, if you choose us, your child will grow up knowing their story, where they came from, and the brave choice you made for them. They will be loved unconditionally, supported in all their dreams, and encouraged to become whoever they wish to be.

Please know that we are thinking of you and the well-being of your child above all. We are committed to being the best parents we can be, and your child will always know the strength and love of their incredible mother. We welcome the opportunity to get to know you better and share more about the life we hope to offer your child.

With heartfelt thanks,
Ruben and Noel

About Us

Hi! We are Ruben and Noel, and it's with great pleasure that we introduce ourselves. Our paths crossed in 2010 when Ruben relocated to the U.S. from Norway, and since then, we've formed an unbreakable partnership, cultivating a rich life together in beautiful Washington. Ruben, the techie, works from home, where he spearheads projects in artificial intelligence and chatbots, while Noel, the explorer, serves as a flight attendant, facilitating our global adventures. Our experiences are marked by travel and varied seasonal pursuits—from engaging in badminton and fishing during the summer to enjoying books alongside Mexican comfort food in the fall and embracing skiing in the winter. Family is the most important for us, and we are fortunate to have come from loving and supporting families that are thrilled about our adoption journey.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a family-friendly city close to Seattle with our two dogs, Pinot and Jake, and our leopard gecko, Chloe. Our pets are playful and loving, a hit with kids in our neighborhood. The city offers excellent schools and plenty of outdoor spaces for adventure. Our home is a cozy retreat, close to vibrant local spots and community parks, where friends, family, and neighbors often gather. The kids especially love watching Chloe during feeding times. We cherish our lively, supportive environment and look forward to sharing its warmth and joy with a new addition to our family.

Our Extended Family

We're uncles to eight nieces and nephews—five on Noel’s side and three on Ruben’s. Despite living far apart, we prioritize visiting them throughout the year. In Spain, we have a family vacation home we visit annually, alongside trips to Norway to see Ruben’s relatives. Activities range from movies and games to enjoying the outdoors, whether it’s summer or winter.

Noel’s side of the family is in California and Arizona. We visit multiple times a year, ensuring each visit includes fun activities like getting frozen yogurt and spending time at the hotel pool. We also fly our nieces and nephews in the U.S. to Washington once a year for a week of exploration and games, with Ticket to Ride being a family favorite. This tradition keeps us connected, blending fun and family time across distances.

What Led Us To Adoption

From an early age, we both understood that creating a family traditionally wasn't in our cards. Our relationship was built on a mutual dream to adopt, although the timing remained uncertain. Over 13 years together, we've joyfully embraced the role of uncles eight times over, with anticipation for the ninth. Each addition has deepened our yearning to nurture a family of our own as we witness the joy these children bring. Now, settled and secure, we're ready to offer a loving, stable home to a child and eager to share the love and happiness we’ve experienced. Our journey has led us here, and we’re so excited.
