dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother.

We want to thank you for your consideration of us as adoptive parents for your child. We understand this is a difficult time and a tough decision for you to make. We did not make the choice of adopting a child lightly and have been taking steps for three years to be prepared to take on the responsibility of another child.

As parents, we would promote sports, schooling, music, and arts while allowing your child to choose what makes them happy. Since we enjoy traveling, they would get to see the world with us while visiting a variety of cultures. Your child would also have the joy of having an independent yet fiercely protective older brother. Aydan is excited to teach and help his future sibling and “show them the ropes” in his words. We would instill values such as responsibility, generosity, hard work, honesty, and kindness. Through family interactions, they would learn about diversity.

We look forward to having a newborn we can love unconditionally, snuggle endlessly, give infinite kisses, and watch grow into an amazing person. Their laughter will brighten our days, and their curiosity will make us smile.

Thank you again for your consideration,
Alex and Kymberly

About Us

Hello! Kym and Alex here. We bonded over our love of the outdoors and being active while also enjoying the downtime of video games and reading. We met at a deli where Kym worked behind the counter while Alex cut the meat. The two of us would hang out after work hours. After about a year, we began dating, and after three more years, we were married. This year we celebrated our ten-year anniversary. Alex works as an electrician with demanding physical and mental projects. Kymberly is a realtor who enjoys helping people move through new chapters of their lives. As a family, we take our six-year-old son to baseball practice and games as well as going to the dog park with our two fur babies.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a cozy three-bedroom home in a mid-sized university town. Our neighborhood has lots of walking paths to get to ponds and a large park. We are a five-minute drive from our church, Aydan’s school, Kymberly’s office, and grocery stores and restaurants. Our community is small enough to be able to get anywhere in town in 15-20 minutes. We enjoy the dog park nearby that allows our great dane (Eris) and our mixed breed (Betty White) to run and play with a larger yard and other dogs. We also have a pet snake named Rubble.

Our Extended Family

Alex was adopted at six years old. His family includes an older biological sister who is married with three kids and a younger non-biological sister who is married with two kids. He enjoys still having two grandmothers, a grandfather, three uncles, three aunts, and nine cousins. His parents and siblings have moved away, but we still have several family friends we see from time to time. Alex also has high school friends we enjoy spending time with.

Kymberly grew up with a single mother who raised her and her brother, who is 11 years older than her. Her mother, her aunt, two godmothers, a grandfather figure, and several cousins all live in town. Her brother lives a couple hours away with his wife and three children. She is in contact with her dad and his family. On her dad’s side, she has a stepmother and five siblings who all live scattered around the country. One sister has five children, the next sister has two children, and then there are the three brothers who are all younger than Kymberly and are living their best lives without children. She has four aunts, four uncles, and several cousins.

What Led Us To Adoption

Our adoption journey starts at the beginning of our relationship, when we discussed Alex and his older sister being adopted and how that impacted their childhood and even their current adulthood. Once we were married, we made a plan to start having children after Alex finished his apprenticeship. We ended up taking almost three years to conceive with medical interventions. During the three years, we discussed adopting. We had our son in 2018 and love him to pieces. We decided we would immediately try for a second since it took some time to conceive our first. After another three years, we decided to look into adopting. Now that our son is six years old, we are financially and emotionally ready to complete our family.
