Over the years, we've cultivated a robust network of trusted adoption service professionals to refer our adoptive families and birth parents to. This series features Q&As with a few of our referrals from across the country.
What is your title & specialty?
I'm managing partner of the law offices of Jeanne T. Tate. I specialize in all kinds of adoptions from domestic to international, intrastate to interstate, relative to non-relative, and everything in between. After 42 years devoted to the field of adoption, my practice and experience are wide-ranging.
What areas do you serve?
All of Florida as well as adoptive parents and birth parents whose adoption plans have a connection to Florida.
What do you like most about what you do?
Fulfilling an adoptive family's dreams of starting or adding to their family, and finding adoptive parents for foster care children.
What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?
Travel, college sports, sewing, and good food.
What advice do you have for prospective adoptive parents?
The most important decision you make is hiring a competent adoption professional, so do your homework and rely on solid referrals and experience.
What's your most memorable or rewarding moment from working in adoption?
Finding adoptive parents for special needs children, winning contested adoption litigation, and creating solutions for adoptions that have gone awry from the subpar work of prior adoption professionals.
Do you have a personal connection to adoption?
I do not have a personal connection to adoption and often say my clients wouldn't let me adopt because they want to!
